10 years later, more or less

So I stepped off the soapbox and was/am much happier for it. As I suspected, and mentioned in my book, constant attention to LADA was not the right way for me to proceed. Every now and then, someone newly diagnosed tracks me down and I'm very happy to give my two cents worth.

But the reason I dug up the login for this old blog was actually just to use it as another place to shamelessly plug what I enjoy talking about, what I 've been doing for the last 10 years.

I publish old books, narrate and produce audiobooks, and host a podcast called "Sleepy Time Travels" .

Still About Balance

wow. more than a year. just like that.
and it’s not that nothing was going on
rather more like everything was going on
looking back at the sustainable stuff though
it’s weirdly, exactly, relevant, now.
Balance seems to be the coherent principle
at all levels
it’s chaotic, I mean like chaos theory, fractal chaotic.
each element of my life, once the onion skins are peeled away
is best explained by the idea of a guage or meter
things wrong or right about physical health or mental state
even the magnitude of this right/wrongness
can be read off the scale once you’ve fixed your position
you say “duh, you should’ve been born East, young man,
you’d have know all that by age 2
and it’s true

capturing an idea

capturing an idea

one of those phrases that doesn't really make sense, if you think about it
because an idea isn't really captureable, is it?

Bob Stanford's Irresistible Ads

Ads As Art (stream)

Even these days, with our picky attention palates,
radio can still, without anything fancy, grab our attention
make us laugh or cry

In addition to music and programming, heard any ads lately that caught your interest?

Those of us with enough gray to recall 1970 might remember some pretty off-the-wall radio spots that ran through that decade
